# Midnight Video Camera vs Nightcam Camera

The clearest difference is rating: Nightcam Camera at 4.1 against Midnight Video Camera's 2.7. Nightcam Camera also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Midnight Video Camera's advantage is review sentiment (44% vs 23%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Midnight Video Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Nightcam Camera sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nightcam Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nightcam Camera has 2.6K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Midnight Video Camera's written reviews are positive against 23% of Nightcam Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Midnight Video Camera ships an update every 6 weeks, Nightcam Camera every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
