# Midnight Video Camera vs Night Vision

The clearest difference is rating: Night Vision at 4.1 against Midnight Video Camera's 2.7. Night Vision also leads on ratings volume (517 vs 7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Midnight Video Camera's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (44% vs 35%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Midnight Video Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Night Vision sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Night Vision holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Night Vision has 517 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Midnight Video Camera's written reviews are positive against 35% of Night Vision's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Midnight Video Camera ships an update every 6 weeks, Night Vision fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
