# Trion vs Mindsurf

The clearest difference is monetization model: Mindsurf at free with in-app purchases against Trion's subscription. Mindsurf also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Trion's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.4) and review sentiment (81% vs 63%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trion sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per month and Mindsurf sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trion holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 7 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of Trion's written reviews are positive against 63% of Mindsurf's.

Trion ships an update every 2 months, Mindsurf every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
