# PRO type vs Calc The App

The clearest difference is update cadence: PRO type at every 9 months against Calc The App's every 25 months. PRO type also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PRO type sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Calc The App sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PRO type ships an update every 9 months, Calc The App every 25 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
