# Book vs Word Connect

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Word Connect at 25K against Book's 272. Word Connect also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Book sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Word Connect sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Connect has 25K ratings behind it against 272, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Book's written reviews are positive against 75% of Word Connect's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
