# Copy Text On Screen vs Text Scanner

The clearest difference is update cadence: Copy Text On Screen at every 2 weeks against Text Scanner's every 4 months. Copy Text On Screen also leads on ratings volume (4.8K vs 2). Text Scanner's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Copy Text On Screen sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Text Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Scanner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Copy Text On Screen has 4.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Copy Text On Screen's written reviews are positive against 67% of Text Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Copy Text On Screen ships an update every 2 weeks, Text Scanner every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
