# LightComics vs SubWise

The clearest difference is ads: SubWise at none against LightComics's shown. LightComics's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LightComics sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SubWise sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LightComics ships an update every 2 weeks, SubWise every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
