# Learn Chinese Language vs Learn Chinese (Beginners)

The clearest difference is rating: Learn Chinese (Beginners) at 4.7 against Learn Chinese Language's 3.7. Learn Chinese (Beginners) also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (23 vs 3). Learn Chinese Language's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn Chinese Language sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Learn Chinese (Beginners) sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Learn Chinese (Beginners) holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn Chinese (Beginners) has 23 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Learn Chinese Language's written reviews are positive against 60% of Learn Chinese (Beginners)'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Learn Chinese Language ships an update every 2 months, Learn Chinese (Beginners) monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
