# GOLFTEC vs Toptracer Range

The clearest difference is rating: Toptracer Range at 4.8 against GOLFTEC's 4.0. Toptracer Range also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). GOLFTEC's advantage is review sentiment (53% vs 36%) and device support (4 vs 2). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GOLFTEC sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Toptracer Range asks for nothing beyond the download.

Toptracer Range holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Toptracer Range has 13K ratings behind it against 694, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of GOLFTEC's written reviews are positive against 36% of Toptracer Range's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GOLFTEC ships an update monthly, Toptracer Range weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
