# Skillz vs Flash Recall

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Flash Recall at 100% against Skillz's 53%. Flash Recall also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Skillz's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (57 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skillz sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Flash Recall sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flash Recall holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skillz has 57 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 53% of Skillz's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flash Recall's.

Skillz ships an update every 3 weeks, Flash Recall weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
