# Domino vs Sword Maker

Domino and Sword Maker both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 36% of Domino's written reviews are positive against 13% of Sword Maker's. Domino also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 11.0). Sword Maker's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 1.2K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Domino sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sword Maker sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Domino against 4.4 for Sword Maker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sword Maker has 17K ratings behind it against 1.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 36% of Domino's written reviews are positive against 13% of Sword Maker's.

Domino ships an update every 3 days, Sword Maker every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
