# Digital Camera User vs Iron Cross

The clearest difference is update cadence: Iron Cross at every 6 months against Digital Camera User's every 25 months. Iron Cross also leads on ratings volume (14 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.2 vs 13.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Camera User sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Iron Cross sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $49.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Digital Camera User against 4.9 for Iron Cross. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Iron Cross has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Digital Camera User ships an update every 25 months, Iron Cross every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
