# Makihome vs Global Smart

The clearest difference is update cadence: Makihome at every 3 weeks against Global Smart's every 6 months. Makihome also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Global Smart's advantage is review sentiment (55% vs 43%) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Makihome holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Global Smart has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Makihome's written reviews are positive against 55% of Global Smart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Makihome ships an update every 3 weeks, Global Smart every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
