# Progate vs モチタン

The clearest difference is update cadence: モチタン at every 5 days against Progate's every 3 weeks. モチタン also leads on ratings volume (146 vs 18). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Progate sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and モチタン sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Progate against 4.7 for モチタン. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: モチタン has 146 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Progate's written reviews are positive against 53% of モチタン's.

Progate ships an update every 3 weeks, モチタン every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 11, 2026.
