# UMM vs Smart travel

UMM and Smart travel both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 50% of UMM's written reviews are positive against 20% of Smart travel's. UMM also leads on ratings volume (24 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Smart travel's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for UMM against 4.5 for Smart travel. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UMM has 24 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of UMM's written reviews are positive against 20% of Smart travel's.

UMM ships an update every 9 months, Smart travel fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
