# Leaf vs VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Leaf at 5.0 against VPN's 4.3. Leaf also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (34 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Leaf asks for nothing beyond the download.

Leaf holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 34 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Leaf ships an update fortnightly, VPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on July 7, 2026 and September 6, 2026 respectively.
