# Leaf vs VPN

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Leaf at none against VPN's 3. Leaf also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (630 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Leaf asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Leaf against 4.9 for VPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 630 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Leaf ships an update fortnightly, VPN monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
