# KingDraw vs Calligraphy Master

The clearest difference is rating: Calligraphy Master at 4.3 against KingDraw's 3.3. Calligraphy Master also leads on ratings volume (2.5K vs 58). KingDraw's advantage is review sentiment (59% vs 34%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KingDraw sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Calligraphy Master sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calligraphy Master holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calligraphy Master has 2.5K ratings behind it against 58, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of KingDraw's written reviews are positive against 34% of Calligraphy Master's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KingDraw ships an update every 3 weeks, Calligraphy Master every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
