# GS vs IR explorer

The clearest difference is rating: GS at 4.7 against IR explorer's 3.1. GS also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). IR explorer's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (49 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GS holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IR explorer has 49 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GS ships an update every 3 months, IR explorer fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
