# Tabata Timer vs F1T

The clearest difference is rating: F1T at 5.0 against Tabata Timer's 4.3. Tabata Timer's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (26 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tabata Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and F1T sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

F1T holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tabata Timer has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tabata Timer ships an update weekly, F1T every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
