# Optika vs Video Compressor App

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Optika at 75% against Video Compressor App's 0%. Optika also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks). Video Compressor App's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (244 vs 23). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Optika sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Video Compressor App sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Compressor App holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Compressor App has 244 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Optika's written reviews are positive against 0% of Video Compressor App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Optika ships an update every 9 days, Video Compressor App every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
