# yap! vs Dubai First

The clearest difference is ads: yap! at none against Dubai First's shown. yap! also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 21%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Dubai First's advantage is ratings volume (412 vs 8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for yap! against 4.6 for Dubai First. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dubai First has 412 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of yap!'s written reviews are positive against 21% of Dubai First's.

yap! ships an update every 2 months, Dubai First every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
