# Loop vs nostalgie CAM

Loop and nostalgie CAM both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Loop's written reviews are positive against 0% of nostalgie CAM's. Loop also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (22 vs 1). nostalgie CAM's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (14.1 vs 17.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Loop sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and nostalgie CAM sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

nostalgie CAM holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Loop has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Loop's written reviews are positive against 0% of nostalgie CAM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Loop ships an update every 2 weeks, nostalgie CAM every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
