# Spotxel® Reader vs Forms for Google Docs

The clearest difference is rating: Forms for Google Docs at 4.8 against Spotxel® Reader's 2.4. Forms for Google Docs also leads on ratings volume (62K vs 7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Spotxel® Reader's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 62%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spotxel® Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Forms for Google Docs sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Forms for Google Docs holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forms for Google Docs has 62K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Spotxel® Reader's written reviews are positive against 62% of Forms for Google Docs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spotxel® Reader ships an update every 2 months, Forms for Google Docs fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
