# GPS Race Timer vs Flash Tree

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Flash Tree at 100% against GPS Race Timer's 34%. Flash Tree also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 7 months). GPS Race Timer's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (2.7K vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Race Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flash Tree sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GPS Race Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Race Timer has 2.7K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of GPS Race Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flash Tree's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS Race Timer ships an update every 7 months, Flash Tree every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
