# GPS Race Timer vs Gowow APP

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Gowow APP at 100% against GPS Race Timer's 34%. Gowow APP also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months). GPS Race Timer's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (2.7K vs 2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Race Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Gowow APP asks for nothing beyond the download.

GPS Race Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Race Timer has 2.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of GPS Race Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Gowow APP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS Race Timer ships an update every 7 months, Gowow APP every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
