# MChat Messenger vs POP

The clearest difference is rating: POP at 3.8 against MChat Messenger's 3.2. POP also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). MChat Messenger's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 40%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

POP holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 26 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of MChat Messenger's written reviews are positive against 40% of POP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MChat Messenger ships an update every 5 weeks, POP fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
