# Forms vs Trace

The clearest difference is update cadence: Trace at every 5 days against Forms's fortnightly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forms sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.49 per month and Trace sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Forms ships an update fortnightly, Trace every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
