# Flashwords vs Flashword

Flashwords and Flashword both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Flashword's written reviews are positive against 60% of Flashwords's. Flashwords's advantage is ratings volume (92 vs 9) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flashwords sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Flashword sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Flashwords against 4.7 for Flashword. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashwords has 92 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Flashwords's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flashword's.

Flashwords ships an update weekly, Flashword every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
