# ARV vs Shadow

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Shadow at 41 against ARV's 2. Shadow also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for ARV against 4.9 for Shadow. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shadow has 41 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
