# Salon Ethos vs Midnight Greens

The clearest difference is update cadence: Midnight Greens at every 3 months against Salon Ethos's every 8 months. Salon Ethos's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 1) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Salon Ethos against 5.0 for Midnight Greens. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Salon Ethos has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Salon Ethos ships an update every 8 months, Midnight Greens every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
