# 28 Program vs ParrotPal

The clearest difference is monetization model: ParrotPal at free with in-app purchases against 28 Program's subscription. ParrotPal also leads on ratings volume (3.8K vs 72). 28 Program's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 28 Program sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $39.99 per month and ParrotPal sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for 28 Program against 4.7 for ParrotPal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ParrotPal has 3.8K ratings behind it against 72, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 59% of 28 Program's written reviews are positive against 64% of ParrotPal's.

28 Program ships an update fortnightly, ParrotPal every 8 days. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
