# AirChord vs Scrypted

The clearest difference is review sentiment: AirChord at 82% against Scrypted's 33%. AirChord also leads on ratings volume (99 vs 16). Scrypted's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AirChord sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Scrypted asks for nothing beyond the download.

Scrypted holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AirChord has 99 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of AirChord's written reviews are positive against 33% of Scrypted's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AirChord ships an update every 5 months, Scrypted every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
