# Cheap VPN vs uVPN

The clearest difference is ads: uVPN at none against Cheap VPN's shown. uVPN also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.2). Cheap VPN's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cheap VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and uVPN sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

uVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 165 and 201 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Cheap VPN's written reviews are positive against 57% of uVPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cheap VPN ships an update fortnightly, uVPN monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
