# Smartfrog Home Security Camera vs GrusHome

The clearest difference is rating: GrusHome at 5.0 against Smartfrog Home Security Camera's 4.1. GrusHome also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.0). Smartfrog Home Security Camera's advantage is ratings volume (36 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smartfrog Home Security Camera sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and GrusHome sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GrusHome holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smartfrog Home Security Camera has 36 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Smartfrog Home Security Camera ships an update every 5 weeks, GrusHome every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
