# Screen Recorder vs FacePiP

The clearest difference is rating: FacePiP at 5.0 against Screen Recorder's 4.5. FacePiP also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Screen Recorder's advantage is ratings volume (111K vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and FacePiP sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FacePiP holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Recorder has 111K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Screen Recorder ships an update every 2 months, FacePiP every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
