# Waitrose & Partners vs ThruDark

The clearest difference is ads: ThruDark at none against Waitrose & Partners's shown. Waitrose & Partners's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 33) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Waitrose & Partners against 5.0 for ThruDark. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Waitrose & Partners has 1.1K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Waitrose & Partners ships an update weekly, ThruDark fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
