# Referee Watch PRO vs Referee Tools

The clearest difference is rating: Referee Watch PRO at 4.4 against Referee Tools's 3.8. Referee Watch PRO also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months). Referee Tools's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (70% vs 55%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Referee Watch PRO sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Referee Tools sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Referee Watch PRO holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Referee Watch PRO has 38 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Referee Watch PRO's written reviews are positive against 70% of Referee Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Referee Watch PRO ships an update every 2 weeks, Referee Tools every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
