# BluAgent Electronic Logbook vs Smart Elds

The clearest difference is update cadence: Smart Elds at every 3 weeks against BluAgent Electronic Logbook's every 2 months. Smart Elds also leads on ratings volume (55 vs 4) and rating (4.2 vs 4.0). BluAgent Electronic Logbook's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Smart Elds holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Elds has 55 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of BluAgent Electronic Logbook's written reviews are positive against 56% of Smart Elds's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BluAgent Electronic Logbook ships an update every 2 months, Smart Elds every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 10, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
