# Diary with lock vs MiiBook Journal

The clearest difference is rating: MiiBook Journal at 4.8 against Diary with lock's 4.3. Diary with lock's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary with lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and MiiBook Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MiiBook Journal holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary with lock has 1.2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Diary with lock's written reviews are positive against 63% of MiiBook Journal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Diary with lock ships an update every 6 weeks, MiiBook Journal monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
