# WAVE PTX vs Ontic Technologies

The clearest difference is rating: Ontic Technologies at 5.0 against WAVE PTX's 3.7. Ontic Technologies also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). WAVE PTX's advantage is review sentiment (36% vs 0%) and ratings volume (38 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ontic Technologies holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WAVE PTX has 38 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of WAVE PTX's written reviews are positive against 0% of Ontic Technologies's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WAVE PTX ships an update every 4 months, Ontic Technologies every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
