# GIF Maker ◐ vs Gif

The clearest difference is rating: GIF Maker ◐ at 4.7 against Gif's 3.6. GIF Maker ◐ also leads on ratings volume (3K vs 14) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 7 months). Gif's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GIF Maker ◐ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Gif sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GIF Maker ◐ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GIF Maker ◐ has 3K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of GIF Maker ◐'s written reviews are positive against 33% of Gif's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GIF Maker ◐ ships an update every 5 weeks, Gif every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
