# CCTV Connect vs Security Camera

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: CCTV Connect at none against Security Camera's 3. CCTV Connect also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Security Camera's advantage is ratings volume (159 vs 47). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Security Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. CCTV Connect asks for nothing beyond the download.

CCTV Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 47 and 159 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of CCTV Connect's written reviews are positive against 74% of Security Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CCTV Connect ships an update every 3 weeks, Security Camera every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
