# Instant Checkmate vs OAT

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OAT at 100% against Instant Checkmate's 53%. OAT also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Instant Checkmate's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Instant Checkmate sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and OAT sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OAT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Instant Checkmate has 1.3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 53% of Instant Checkmate's written reviews are positive against 100% of OAT's.
