# xpression avatar vs Edit Empire Pro

The clearest difference is monetization model: xpression avatar at free with in-app purchases against Edit Empire Pro's subscription. xpression avatar also leads on ratings volume (17K vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 18.0). Edit Empire Pro's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. xpression avatar sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Edit Empire Pro sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
