# Trace Teams vs NorCal

The clearest difference is rating: Trace Teams at 4.8 against NorCal's 2.5. Trace Teams also leads on ratings volume (4.4K vs 18) and chart position (#113 vs unranked). NorCal's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 24%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Trace Teams holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trace Teams has 4.4K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Trace Teams's written reviews are positive against 33% of NorCal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trace Teams ships an update weekly, NorCal every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
