# Bear Planet vs Drop Chop

The clearest difference is update cadence: Bear Planet at every 3 days against Drop Chop's weekly. Bear Planet also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Drop Chop's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and ratings volume (26 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bear Planet sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Drop Chop sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bear Planet holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drop Chop has 26 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Bear Planet's written reviews are positive against 100% of Drop Chop's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bear Planet ships an update every 3 days, Drop Chop weekly. Both last shipped on October 13, 2026.
