# Horizon vs Nova Smash

The clearest difference is update cadence: Nova Smash at every 3 days against Horizon's every 3 months. Nova Smash also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). Horizon's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (20K vs 5). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Horizon sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Nova Smash sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Horizon holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Horizon has 20K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Horizon ships an update every 3 months, Nova Smash every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
