# Horizon vs Brain Skills

The clearest difference is ads: Brain Skills at none against Horizon's shown. Brain Skills also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). Horizon's advantage is ratings volume (20K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Horizon sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Brain Skills sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brain Skills holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Horizon has 20K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Horizon ships an update every 3 months, Brain Skills weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
