# primr vs Wave Writer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: primr at none against Wave Writer's 1. primr also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.4). Wave Writer's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wave Writer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. primr asks for nothing beyond the download.

primr holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of primr's written reviews are positive against 100% of Wave Writer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
